Ash Patel is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Commercial Bank of California,

Mr. Patel, a banking professional with over 25 years of experience, was born in Zambia, Africa. He pursued an advanced degree in finance at Loughborough University in Loughborough, England before entering the United States. In 1986, Mr. Patel arrived in California and began his banking career as a teller with Bank of America. He completed California Banking School in San Diego, California and is a graduate of the prestigious Pacific Coast Banking School in Seattle, Washington.

After rising through various positions and managing multiple branches for Bank of America, Mr. Patel became one of the highest performing managers during his tenure. He held senior management positions with California State Bank and Bank of Orange County, where he served as Senior Vice President/Administration. At Bank of Orange County Mr. Patel opened the office in Orange, and within a short period the branch reached $100 million in size and accomplished profitability in record time.

Over the last ten years Mr. Patel has served as founding President/COO and Director of Premier Commercial Bank, N.A. in Anaheim, California. The bank achieved significant success and profitability since opening in 2001, with total assets in excess of $500 million at year-end 2012, becoming one of the five largest banks headquartered in Orange County, with two locations: Anaheim and Irvine/Newport. From 2004 to 2007, Mr. Patel was instrumental in organizing, opening, and successfully divesting Premier Commercial Bank Arizona (PCBAZ), a subsidiary of Premier Commercial Bancorp, which derived a handsome return on investment in a very short period.  The bank during its history was one of a handful of banks in Orange County that sustained consistent profitability quarter-after-quarter since inception in 2001. The bank has accomplished all of their growth organically, and became the National SBA Lender of the Year in 2012 for loans generated in fiscal 2011. In January 2012, the bank entered into a definitive agreement with California United Bank and closed in August 2012.

Mr Patel actively consulted for the banking and hospitality industry prior to joining Commercial Bank of California in September 2013.

Christopher Colella is Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer of Commercial Bank of California.


Mr. Colella has over 15 years of Southern California banking experience with extensive knowledge of credit origination and business banking, and an additional 10+ years of banking regulatory oversight experience. Chris oversees all credit administration functions, including developing credit offerings, establishing lending standards and guidelines, supervising loan underwriting activities, overseeing loan documentation and servicing functions, and ensuring compliance with lending-related governing regulations.


Mr. Colella joined Commercial Bank of California in October 2013, following his employment with Wedbush Bank, Los Angeles, Calif., where he very favorably served a similar role for three years commencing in October 2010. Likewise, Mr. Colella was the founding EVP/Chief Credit Officer of a newly-formed (“de novo”) bank – Americas United Bank, Glendale, Calif. - from its inception in 2006 until October 2010. Prior to this time, Christopher Colella was tasked with the same credit administration leadership role with Cedars Bank, Los Angeles, Calif., where he worked from November 1998 through its notably rewarding sale in January 2006. After over 10 years of dedicated service, Mr. Colella discontinued his employment with the FDIC, Division of Supervision, as a Supervisory Examiner in the Los Angeles West Field Office, to pursue a private-sector banking career.


Christopher Colella earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 1987 at Arizona State University, Tempe, Ariz., whereupon he graduated with highest academic recognition (Summa Cum Laude). In August 2003, Mr. Colella completed a graduate-level educational program with Pacific Coast Banking School, Seattle Wash., wherein he graduated with honors and then returned to serve as an Associated Director for the following August 2004 session.



Viktor Uehlinger is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Commercial Bank of California.


Viktor Uehlinger is an accomplished finance executive who brings 35 years of senior management experience in the financial services industry to Commercial Bank of California (“CBC”). With that comes an excellent track record of productivity, quality and profitability improvement.


Mr. Uehlinger was born and educated in Switzerland. He began his banking career in 1971 with Credit Suisse in Zurich, Switzerland. In 1978, Mr. Uehlinger relocated to the United States, where he joined the Los Angeles office of Union Bank of Switzerland in finance, administrative and operational senior management capacities. During the last 11 years with UBS, Mr. Uehlinger served as Chief Financial Officer/Chief Administrative Officer at their Los Angeles Branch. In 1999, Mr. Uehlinger resumed the role of Senior Vice President of Asahi Bank of California, where he served as Chief Financial Officer and Senior Compliance Officer in a wide range of senior management functions including finance and accounting, regulatory compliance, asset and liability management, information technology/security, risk management and contingency planning.


In 2001, Mr. Uehlinger joined Premier Commercial Bank as a strong member of the founding management team. In his role as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial and Chief Risk Officer, Mr. Uehlinger was instrumental in providing guidance to executive management and his peers, and contributed to the rapid growth of the Bank into a profitable and respected Community Bank.


In 2012, Premier Commercial Bank merged into California United Bank. Mr. Uehlinger transitioned from finance into risk management. As Senior Vice President & Enterprise Risk Manager, he assumed the responsibilities for enterprise risk management, internal audit coordination, audit committee interface, vendor management, information security, insurance, and facility management.


Mr. Uehlinger’s valuable and practical experience in areas ranging from international finance, Treasury management, information technology, information security and risk management make him an invaluable asset to Commercial Bank of California. He has a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance and Accounting and Business Law from the Business and Trade College, Zurich, and has served on various banking and industry task forces, including the California Bankers Association's Finance and Operations Committee. He is multi-lingual in English, Swiss, German and French, and well-versed in the many financial complexities unique to the banking industry.


Mr. Uehlinger is an alumnus of the prestigious Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington, Seattle, where he graduated in 2006 with Honors.
